About
Robin Singh
Senior Software Engineer with 6+ years building scalable backend systems, distributed platforms, enterprise integrations, AI-powered products, and workflow infrastructure. Previously lead engineer for integrations at Vimeo, where I also built AI and workflow systems; co-founder of Poplitu; part-time AI Engineer at Mercor.
How I work
- 01
Systems before tools
Start from requirements, constraints, workloads, failure modes, and operational needs — then choose technology. The right tool is the one that fits the system you've already reasoned about.
- 02
Reliability is part of architecture
Retries, idempotency, observability, rate limits, and backpressure are designed in from the first diagram, not bolted on after the first incident.
- 03
Simple abstractions
Good abstractions make complex systems easier to understand and operate without hiding the behaviour you need to see.
- 04
Architecture is about trade-offs
There is rarely a universally best technology. The job is to make trade-offs explicit, reversible where possible, and honest about what was given up.
- 05
AI is still software engineering
Durable state, authorization, observability, evaluation, cost control, and failure recovery don't disappear because a model is in the loop.

Integrations
I led production integration work at Vimeo and co-founded Poplitu, whose broader platform direction includes more than 60 provider integrations. The Poplitu section groups that work by product category because individual provider availability continues to evolve.
